This month if my mother were still alive, she would be 100
years young. We always remember different things from different times about our
parents. The let me share a couple that just stand out. I believe it was when I
turned 9 or 10, it was Christmas and the gift my mom got me, well I just wasn’t
sure if she was trying to kill me or wanted me to run away with the circus. She
got me unicycle! It came with these two sticks to help you stay up right but it
didn’t work for me at all, in fact when I went back to school after Christmas
break, I think I had the most bruises I’ve ever had. But she didn’t want either
for me she just thought it would be fun to have a unicycle and learn to ride it.
Then skipping many years later, I was in the Army. I was
stationed in Germany, this one Christmas I didn’t receive the fruitcake my mom
made. You see she made fruitcake every Christmas but she didn’t send it to me
this time. Without me even saying anything she knew I was coming home for
Christmas. It was supposed to be a surprise but somehow, she knew, I guess they
always know.
I know she’s in a much better place I know she loved me as I
love her, I know one day I’ll get to see her again of course that time is up to
God. Have a wonderful Mother’s Day and don’t forget your mother. God Bless
